In 2015, the Syracuse Housing Authority initiated the East Adams Neighborhood Transformation Plan, targeting the comprehensive revitalization of what was historically known as the 15th Ward in Syracuse, NY. This ambitious plan aims to address significant physical and social challenges, transforming the area into a vibrant mixed-use, mixed-income community.
Seamlessly complementing the I-81 Viaduct Project, the transformation is designed to reconnect the neighborhood both physically and socially, removing barriers and creating a new urban fabric. By integrating critical public infrastructure improvements and fostering strong community partnerships, the plan sets the stage for sustainable development and a thriving local economy.
This holistic approach promises not only to rejuvenate the area, but also to serve as a model for urban renewal, enhancing quality of life, and opening up new opportunities for residents.
